Rear area vs rear area units

Post by Lunaticus_matrixforum »

Found something strange and not sure if this has been discussed before:
When a unit consisting of only rear area units fights against another unit consisting of only rear area units nothing will happen (no combat hits, not even readiness loss).
Can be reproduced straightforwardly as follows: Start a small random map, produce a unit with lots of mortars and some trucks for each side and have both units attack each other directly. Combat will run for 10 turns but both sides get through without a scratch....
Looks a bit strange to me. [&:]

Rear area units only attack frontline units, unless they got artillery range of 1 or more.

Many thanks for the feedback, that explains it.
Actually this was completely new information for me.
Will do some unit adjustments accordingly...

And rear area SFTypes with artillery range cannot attack any "broken through" opponents.
