I hope there is a NATO Symbol counter option as I do not like the look of the 3D units at all .... I honestly think my eyes will start hurting looking at a cluttered map full of those images...

You mean the developer's page?

i agree with you 1000%.... i dont want to play a game that looks like "panzer commander"! if its a serious war game it should have nato symbols... and 3D just makes it look like you are playing minatures... i cant take it seriously as an historical war game worth buying with all this "eye candy" and no other option

Well, I've been wargaming for many years and I enjoyed this game quite a lot. Just because a 10 year old can play it doesn't mean it has nothing to offer to others.

If it's like Panzer General (and it seems it is) then it is first and foremost a game not an historical simulation. having said that doesn't mean it can't be fun and can't require strategy and at least resonate to some of the elements of real military thinking (captured through the rock/scissors/paper aspects). I play hardcore wargames and PG and enjoy both.
On the 3D vs Nato I don't understand why NATO symbols are so sacred. In actual military practice their used to be situations where 3D models were used (I think). For example in battle of britain or battle of atlantic I thinnk they may have used scale models. In any case 3D models do imply that this is more a 'game' then simulation (by far) and that seems appropriate.
