Japanese Sub Use

I was just wondering where the rest of you Jap Fanboys are getting successes with your subs.

In December 41 I had some luck around the DEI - like near Palambang and Soerbaja catching merchies and tankers but that has dried up.

No the only real place I get any success has been between OZ and Port Moresby - catching troop and supply ships.

The area around Pearl and Western US is dry - not a single encounter.

Are you talking vs. AI, or against a human?

I played the AI for about a month to learn the engine, with AUTO SUB OPS on, I got tons of kills. My Computer sub commander would sink unescorted AKs all the time, and alot off North America.

I think you're talking against a human though, tougher question.......

I had some success moving the subs from around Hawaii to the West Coast right at the start of the war.
 
In the opening week, those sank something like 4 DD, 3 PC, 1 AP; two other AP and a CA were hit but probably not sunk. 6 of my subs were hit in return, but all made it back to Kwajalein safely, and now (mid-February) most at back in service.
 
Other than that, subs sank a few unescorted xAK/xAP/TK in the Malacca Straits and off Darwin.
