battalion guns

The Seven Years’ War was fought across the globe and called by some the first “World War” as virtually every major power participated. In the center of events was Prussia, almost constantly at war and lead by the now legendary Frederick the Great.

Relive the exciting and trying days of Frederick the Great in Horse and Musket: Volume I, the improved and expanded combination of the previous Prussian War Machine and Prussia’s Glory titles. Horse and Musket: Volume I is a reboot of the successful Horse and Musket series, including not only two solid historical titles in one package, but also many new game features, a powerful new editor, and a complete graphics overhaul to an already acclaimed gaming system.

battalion guns

Post by Gribeauval »

Why not introducing the number of battalion guns of each army and the number of battalion guns lost by each side in the victory screen ?
The guns in the victory screen are the artillery pieces belonging to the independant batteries. The numerous battalion guns are not listed.

Could you not even use the number of battalion guns in the calculation of the percentage of army remaining ?

They represent an important part of an army 's firepower.

Counting them on the victory screen would be neat, a nice way to inflate your record... personally, I'd rather the victory screen was more specific as to casualties, i.e. it should list killed, fled and captured separately.

Battalion guns are currently handled in a very abstract fashion, which I actually like, even though it leads to them being in places where they probably shouldn't be (i.e. dragged up the Lobosh through the vineyards, for instance), because a more detailed representation (which'd allow for them to be detached and re-attached for a variety of reasons, including by choice) would just be a pain to micromanage.

Would be nice to include actual graphical batallion guns. I´ll see for the next volume If can make more variety in the artillery pieces.

Give me more soldiers. If you put battalion guns in place of one soldier it will left only 7 - to small for me. 10 will be better than actual 8. P.S. Magnus why you don't answer my emails?

This is all a trade off between game play and realism.

I do have a "wish list" item to increase the casualty tracking...KIA, WIA, POW...things like that.

Reworking the # of figures used for each unit is a MAJOR change. Will be looked at, but I do not expect any change along those lines for some time.

Good to hear I'm not the only one who wants that, Tim.

What are you thinking of in terms of battalion gun graphics, Magnus? The old deal, which caused lots of crashes in the PWM demo, of having an artillery graphic as part of an infantry unit? Or a separate, additional graphic that serves as an actual indicator of how many battalion guns a unit has.

separate unit graphic for batallion guns, not sure if it will work though.

PrinzeHeinrich send the emails again, they seem to have been lost along the way, I haven´t recieved any emails from you.

Yes I agree more soldiers would be very nice if possible.
