Core units.

Post by Champagne »

Newbie question for Kharkov.

I'm starting my first campaign game.

How do I tell which of my units are my Core Units that will be with me for the whole campaign (assuming they live!)

Thanks.

well, you've had a few views, and no response yet. Maybe thats because no one knows how to tell in the game. Unfortunately, neither do i. Im not sure you can tell playing the game. You could load the scenario into the scenario editor i suppose and find out that way, but that also gives away some things so maybe not the best approach. the other possibility is maybe it's in the campaign or scenario briefing in the campaign.

I hope one of the 'experts' here can tell me im wrong and show me how to tell too.

I think some of the standard campaigns don't use core units, but im not positive.

It seems like that is something that should be added in the next game in series.

(It also tells me that is something that campaigns maybe should put in the briefing if its not there).

Which campaign are you playing? (I could check for you and let you know which are core units).

IIRC For a campaign, in the purchase screen (with the mini map at bottom center), the 'core' units are already purchased (they'll be in the top center box) and cannot be "traded back" to the pool (top left box).

For a regular mission, you'll note that is not the case: in the purchase screen one can pick and choose which units he wants from the pool and undo them back to the pool.

Champagne, where did you hear about this game? And when?

Images should be easier to load at Matrix.

Spellir - I think you are right! You just need to make note of them!

Oh my gosh! I need to write down the core units from the purchase screen!

Maybe the patch can address this?

Where did I hear about this game and when? I heard about it through the Matrix website, which I visit often, because I own many of their games.
I heard about the game as soon as it was announced on this website ! I have owned Pz Cmd Winterstorm for a long time.

The reason I ask is all of a sudden there is a slew of new users. Bam!: out of nowhere, at the same time. [:)]

That is interesting! I was playing Time of Wrath for a while, then shifted gears to this gem.

Yes, this game is very good.
The community is still small, but hope that the patch will bring there some more players/modders. More units, more scenarios, the better for this game.
