Thanks. :D

However, I don't know why, but anytime I see 3D figures on a strategic map, I do not want to buy or play (though I have made exceptions!). :( On top of the fact that I certainly wouldn't feel like a general playing it, I always have to wonder how stacking is dealt with in these types of hex based-3D unit games. I mean if a bomber symbol, or mobile artillery symbol takes up a whole hex, how can anything else be displayed?

I have a feeling that they also have NATO symbols. But I didn't see any screenshots with them.

Panzer General used to reduce the scale the icons when sharing hexes - however, you could only "stack" an aircraft unit and a ground unitiirc.

I don't know how this does it...I am watching with anticipation. I will most definitely not buy if it's like the other two games from Matrix where you cannot share a hex with an aircraft and land unit because that, to me, is a step backward from 1995!

Air and Ground units can share a hex, it works fine. However, only one unit of the same type per hex. Each unit represents a regiment or division, so it works as far as the map scale and for the "General" style of gameplay.

Don't be put off by the 3D units, this is definitely a strategy game and the graphics work well for clarity.

Well, I have to say the graphics look clean. It is an excellent 3D job. For some reason I am just not a fan of 3D WW2 (unless EACH tank and man are modeled in a tactical environment). Don't know why. But that doesn't mean other people shouldn't be!

I agree 3D figure/icons for counters IMHO look childish. I hope they have Nato counters.

Sorry and don't mean to pile on, but when I compare games like this to the original PG (15 years old now?) , I just have a hard time understanding how the graphics are so (to me) inferior.  Instead of buying a new game, it just makes me want to go back and play PG.  A PG updated with new features, maps, etc., would be more appealing to me at this point...

Is there a possibility to switch a 2D icon just like Strategic Command 2 ?

3D figures in this kind of game don't really bother me...it's lite and as such the 3D works fine, though I'm always for options to appeal to all.

The way the game looks would appeal to a youngster I think...throwing 2D NATO at it might not be so appealing...but like I said...options to switch are cool.

To be honest, you should be going back to play PG for nostalgia, no matter what is currently being sold on the shelves.  And as for the original PG being updated... this has been happening in numerous on-going PG projects.  Where have you been???
