If I see it correct, only TFs with a * have the first turn bonus.
What about adding new ships to these TFs? Will they still work then?

Yes. The first turn bonus is tied to the TF as a whole, irrespective of the ships added. Of course, if you take all the ships out of the KB and replace them with 6-knot coastal freighters, the bonus won't let them move AS FAR, but still...

How many times are they faster? 30 Times?

I don't remember the exact figure. Fast enough to get the KB across the Pacific...[;)]
