Game Crashes After Update

I am trying to run scen 001 as Allies. Around turn 9. I have updated the game to the recent version. While assigning ships to action around SF, the game abruptly crashed. Attached zip file has the report that would have been sent to MS (under auto reporting of problems with WinXP) and the turn I was playing. Perhaps this issue can be fixed in the next update.

BTW, I also have frequent incidences in which the game minimizes itself and puts me on the desktop. I click on the icon on the task bar at the bottom of the screen, the game returns, but many of the graphics are ill-formed. Clicking any button or moving the locale repairs the screen. Annoying.
