Kamikazes in January 1943???? v1084

Post by MadmanRick »

In my game Japanese vs Allied AI, I just had kamikaze action. According to the rule book 7.4.2.3 none of the criteria to activate kamikazes is in place and given that the manual states they will NEVER activate prior to 1 Jan 1944, this HAS to be a bug. Also, I was never given an option to convert said squadron into kamikazes, they just seemed to do it of their own volition. Here is the combat report:

Long before kamikaze attacks began the official Japanese euphemism for all of their planes that went down were planes that heroically suicided themselves, this going along with their propaganda which disseminated the myth that their planes and pilots were so superior that they could not be shot down.

Nope, the other 2 were just "no name" pilots.

No, this is WAD.
There is an increasing change that Japanese planes that have been heavily damaged will attempt to ram ships (or bombers) if they don't think they can get home.
While not officially 'kamikazes', there were instances of this occurring during the war before Kamikazes were 'official'.
