Washed Out Colours with Vista

Post by CaptainHuge »

Has anyone else run into this. I haven't played JTCS for about a month and a half and some of the settings on my Vista computer might have changed. When I started up the game last night, the colours were all washed out as if the brightness were set too high. The vehicle shadows and highlight of allowed movement hexes were particularly bad. I checked all my settings and even played with the Vista compatibility settings, but I couldn't get the colours back to what they were before.

Any ideas?

I had exactly that (allowed movement hexes almost invisible) when I changed my monitor settings for video and photos (-->flatscreen).
But I was lucky when I went back to standard mode it was ok again.
Try reset your monitor to default with the OSD.

Thanks countblue, I will give that a try tonight. I guess the game uses some of the monitor settings for videos and photos?

I changed back to the native resolution for my monitor and it cleared up the problem.

Thanks Again

I think those special settings dont go well with any game. I tried with others and had similar effects.
Its purely if you use you comp as a video or photo display machine (which I do from time to time) then movies do look better with that.
One has just to remember to go back to "standard mode" before launching his favored game. [:)]
