Surface TF at sea will not move! v1084

Post by MadmanRick »

I have a surface TF consisting of CA Furutaka and DD's Fubuki, Yayoi & Uzuki. They are stuck at hex 114, 139 and basically sat in that hex, despite movement orders to first Tulagi and then Rabaul for 7 days. They have fuel and other than some minor damage, there should be no reason why they will not move. Here is a save from the first day they entered hex 114, 139 and would not move out.

Something like this happened to me every once in a while in WitP.  Try setting your destination as your home port (provided its one of your bases) and click on the Return To... button, that should get it moving again, or you could also try just clicking on the Return To... button and send it back towards its home port.  Another work around I've used is changing the TFs destination.  Once it got moving I was able to send it to its original destination without further problems.

I've tried your second suggestion, by changing from Tulagi to Rabaul and the TF stayed stuck in neutral. I'll try your first suggestion and hopefully that'll help.

No, that TF ain't gonna move. Look at the DDs - something bad happened. Do you have an earlier save? Was the TF originally a fast transport TF?

This has to be a bug.

Don,
Yes, those two DD's were part of an earlier fast TF that we discovered a bug in a week or so ago. However, I've been using them since then with no issues such as this. I finally got them to move though, I created a new surface TF and transferred all the ships (including those two DD's with the 120k "supplies" onboard) into it and they responded to orders just fine.

I have a fully loaded amphibious TF stuck in Osaka.
Maybe I should try out the workarounds mentioned.

BTW, how to attach a save file?

Jomni,
To attach a save you first have to zip the save. Once you've zipped it, then just click the "click here to upload" link at the bottom of the reply window. You have to use the "reply" button and not the "fast reply" to get the option to upload files. If you are uploading more than one save, you'll have to upload them individually, otherwise the file will be too large. HTH,

Rick
