Can't use use 1.60

Yesterday I downloaded the latest update 1.60 and installed it. The problem is that I can no longer play the game, every time I try to play the game I get to the main scenario selection screen and the next one then I get kicked out and recieve the error msg 'ww2.exe has stoped working'. I have since installed the latest drivers and Direct X but no of this seems to work. Please help!!!!

The same thing happened to me, when you get to the main screen, select prefs and chose counters 1, then chose what country and hit start.

Have you tried a clean install?

The patch may not work if any mods were previously installed. Old saved games will not work either.

This is probably caused by wrong (old) units skin selected, the best you can do is to install game one more time, download patch 1.60 (updated today) and apply it. Also you can make a copy of installed game directory before applying patch, just in case

I tried this and it solved the problems. Thanks a great deal. It must have been the user made unit files I had installed.

Yes, mods needs to be updated to work with 1.60, but I hope this is the only time, next patches won't change anything in this part of game, unless you guys really want something to be changed.
