Resource transport efficiency

I thought i saw a posting once that discussed losses when resources were auto-transported between bases. Anyone know where that was? I tried to search for it but, well, you know.

I've got some in-game macro-results and I was curious to cross-check them against expectations. I was initially surprised (and quite dismayed) at how my resource stockpiles were dropping but as a percent of daily use it's probably not unreasonable.

For port-to-port transfer the wastage is:
10% for fuel/supplies
 0% for oil/resources
For railroad transfer I got varying results with average being around 0.33% per hex for all fuel/supply/oil/resource.
