Dust trails in Greece, 1940??

SPWaW is a tactical squad-level World War II game on single platoon or up to an entire battalion through Europe and the Pacific (1939 to 1945).

Dust trails in Greece, 1940??

Post by otto »

I'm trying to set up a game with the battle generator, Italy vs. Greece, Oct. 1940. The location always defaults to North Africa so
whenever a vehicle moves it leaves a dust trail behind it, fine for the Western Desert, but for Greece??
Does anybody know how to get rid of these dust trails from appearing??

Create a scenario.

Don't think you can make the dust go away, and the generator will always pick North Africa... :p

From a design stand-point the dust trails are the result of the map being set to Desert. See if you can get in the editor and switch the map to Summer. (or Winter, whichever fits the dates of the battle.)
Retreat is NOT an option.

I think by generating a random "summer" map it can be prevented. Then save the map and select "custom map" instead of "random" in the battle generator.

I don't think it's necessary to create a whole scenario oneself.

Well.. Greece being in quite south in the European Med region, you could expect some dustiness, especially in summer... and expecially with all those dirt tracks in the countryside.
Do those dust trails occur when the vehicles are travelling over tracks only, or over wooded/forested areas??
