PBEM not working

I and another long time gamer and beta tester have been trying to get the PBEM to work. We have been able to get through the first turn but not past the "Event Country PBEM' phase. It would be a big help if any one has any input. v1.60 beta

I just tried a 1.6 PBEM and it works as it did in 1.5. Can you clarify what problem you are having?

Ok, we (or I) get to the Event Country PBEM phase and that is when it stops working. what is the general procedure for the Event Country PBEM phase?

There are no instructions on what to do...

I am sure we are making some simple mistake but, together we have 50 years of wargaming experiance.

Chocolino and I are still using 1.5 for our PBEM.

Maybe Gary did help you already in a private conversation as offered by him. However, just to give you some idea what to expect if PBEM works I write the following (and maybe you know all these things already in which case I apologize).

You should see a message box appear on the screen at the end of your turn indicating to press "ESC" and send the game to the player indicated. That you have to do manually after exiting the game.

The game can also "hang" if you used F11/F12 to change control from Ai to human for a certain country in the current turn. Unless you specifically name the "Player Number" when doing this, the game can set this to "player 0" and nobody can open the game. If that happens, I know how to fix the game file for you to continue. Please send the game directory to me.

I am also confused about your problem since I am not sure what you mean by "Event Country PBEM phase". Never seen that come up explicitly. However, in the inter-turn there are events of course. Does the game hang after you made a choice for some of the events? In that case you may want to report this to the tech forum with the game directory attached for them to look at it.

Thx for your reply, Gary was helpful. I have the 'esc' part down.

The 'Event Country PBEM' phase is the part of the game after movement/combat where countries select there options, if they have any. This should be done by player but for now the game puts them all in one phase. It is during this phase where I have sceen the game hang up. Just so you know the inter-turn is called the 'Event Country PBEM' , look in the upper right hand corner . We had to go back to ver1.50a from 1.60beta to get the pbem to work. Also, yes, tech is now aware of the hang up.
