slightly OT - World At War mag

For those interested - World At War magazine put out by Strategy & Tactics, there's a decent article the Soviets, it's more a TOE type than OOB type article. I haven't fully read it yet but just a general scan. Also in the mag is an article about the Japanese tankers w/ an interesting inset story about the Tinosa & Tonan Maru.

Yikes is this the same strategy & tactics magazine that SPI published in the 70's? I didn't even know it was still around. Does it still have a game attached to it? I loved that magazine back then..ahh memories! [;)]

Strategy and Tactics is alive and well and is being published by Decision Games and yes it does still come with a game with every issue. It is currently up to Issue 258. Bought a couple of issues myself recently. [;)]

World at War is a recently launched companion magazine (also with a game) that concentrates of the WWII period whilst S&T does the rest of history.

The link above takes you to their site and tells you all you need to know.

Cheers,

You fail to mention that there's an article on Japanese Oilers and Tankers in WWII in the same issue...

That really takes me back. To when I was twelve and buying Avalon Hill's Midway. And thus it began some 40 years ago. Still
have all those games.

Whew! I think I need a nap.[>:][:D]

I got the newsstand version that doesn't have the game in it but I've been debating on subscribing to WAW as many of the issues have been good from the ones I've bought. I seems to break down to at least one art from each theater in each issue.
I really miss my old SPI Civil War battle games, wish I hadn't sold them but needed money for college. One thing I don't miss is my cat always messing up the playing pieces.

If I remember correctly, an issue of the magazine WITH game was only like 6 dollars! Just a bit different now. [:D]
