Please send a save file to witptracker@gmail.com

Thanks!

Floyd
Actually, I've got it too ... it is any save from Scen 1 ...

Yipes! It turns out that any device with an ID of 1300 or greater is discarded from the LCUs and TOEs. [X(]
The Chinese fighting units are all more than 1300, so that's why they never showed up.

I'll fix that one...

Floyd

That answers why I couldn't find Torpedo Ordnance listed for any unit. I was trying to figure out what was wrong.

Edit: wow, didn't realize that Air HQ have them... but their device ID is 196, so my fix won't fix that.
Floyd, if you got my email from last night you will realise that the torpedo ordinance comes from the location info (see end of function) not the device info ... actually, maybe I should double check that the device is there as well, but from what I can tell -- I'm right [;)]

Okay, I see it now.

So this "ordinance" thing is just a storage depot of torpedoes and you can draw from the pool...
I guess we'll put this on the list for a later release.
Delete the trackerdb.* files.
Copy the pwsdll.dll file from the game folder to the WitPTracker folder.
Try running the WitPTracker.bat again.

I have downloaded three times, reinstalling each download with exactly the same results. Not only that I've done it on two computers with different operating system. About the only thing that I can see might be causing the problem is the folder name I'm using for AE. Could it be something to do with it?

Missread your email, it was tracker I've download three times.

...and you could look at scenario 1 of your install and see if that base exists.
I'm unsure what you mean by this? It isn't one, it's all of the LCU reinforements list as arriving at the wrong place e.g. Goa, Allies, a blank, Kiungshan and more. I have no problems with a/c or ships, just LCU.
Yeah, I need to fix the arrival bases for Lcu's, it is a holdover from the old witptracker, as to your region definition probs, I'd like you to send a save to witptracker@gmail.com , so it can forwarded onto me

So what I see is that any Air HQ has 100 torpedo Ordnance to draw from and it is hard wired into the code.

Yeah, but you can request more than that by expending supplies, I'm unsure if it is displayed above the 100 lvl though.- it certainly is in the data .. (Too little time playing, too much data finding)

Pity all Lcu's couldn't request devices and troops like this, as an accelerated option (probably lead to some exploit though)[8|]

If you show the TOE of the Air HQ, the ordinance becomes a link, which you can click and change the maximum.
In the normal view, the right arrow lets you draw more (the value is the current storage level and it does show more than 100).

OK. I am not sure what the maximum auto limit size means. But you can add a number of torpedoes to unit 10 at a time. Not sure if there is any maximum you can go to.

Ok, still not sure how to get WitpTracker to read multiple game saves?

What do I put as the save file name in the WitpTracker.properties file?

No, there are three different ways to get Tracker to load the next turn, you don't touch the properties file, unless you want to change the [mode] setting. Did you look at the web site tutorial? I think it is pretty good, but if you have a look and still can't do it I'm available to help

SuluSea, the first problem is the side-by-side configuration, you need to apply the Microsoft patch . The x86 one if you are not a 64Bit user...

Still not working.

Here's the properties file

Dir=[F:\Matrix Games\War in the Pacific Admiral's Edition]
GameType=[0]
Side=[0]
Password=[abc123]
SaveFile=[wpae003.pws]
SaveMode=[1]

1. I delete trackerdb.data, trackerdb.backup files
2. I run WitpTracker, loads looks fine.
3. Select Multi-Turn Read
4. Set directory to "F:\Matrix Games\War in the Pacific Admiral's Edition\Save".

I get a popup box with the message "There are no unloaded turns in the selected directory!"

There are six save game files "wpae000.pws - wpae005.pws". in the save game directory.

When I look at WitpTracker turn list it only show the autosave file loaded?

I would be nice if you showed the name and date of the file(s) loaded.

Pad, when you select multi-turn read, it looks in the specified directory for multiple versions of the save file specified in your properites.  You've specified wpae003.pws, so that is what it is looking for.  You need put all of your past turn save files into a directory, adding some type of numbering to them, like an appended ".001" for example:  wpae003.pws.001.  When you point to the directory containing them you'll be presented with a list of all the wpae003.pws.xxx files to select which you would like to import.

Why do you have to rename the files, huh? The files are already numbered wpae000 - wpae005, or read the files (*.pws) sorted by date in the save game directory! Forget the file in the properties, just show a list of saved game files in a list with date and let the user select them!

The Tracker db is designed to only keep track of one ongoing game at a time.  That's why, when it is normally loading one turn at a time, you have to specify what save file you want to load in the properties file.  The multi-turn load feature will load old saved versions of the same save file, from previous turns.  If you initialize your db with wpae005, for instance, you will not be able to later load a turn from file wpae006.

pad, I think what you may be doing is something like saving your "turn 1" as wpae001, turn 2 as wpae002, and so on.  I believe most folks save the game to the same save slot for each turn.  To keep old save turns, you need to file the old save files in some way.  I keep mine filed as attachments in the emails as they are received from my opponent.  To read in multiple turns, I need to save the attachments to a folder, add a sequence number of some type to keep them from just overwriting the first attachment I save there, because they are all versions of wpae010, and then point Tracker's multi-turn read to that folder.

Hope this helps.

An alternative approach, if you want to keep saving turns in different slots:
- use SaveMode of 0
- each turn, copy the new turn's save file to the WitPTracker folder and rename it to wpae003.pws
- use the Turn > Read Turn function
Delete the trackerdb.* files.
Copy the pwsdll.dll file from the game folder to the WitPTracker folder.
Try running the WitPTracker.bat again.

New capability request

Post by Kull »

Excellent tool guys! I haven't been able to get a "real" campaign game started, but with this, there is hope!

One more feature request: On the LCU tab, could you a column for the name of the parent unit when there are "unit fragments"? For example, many of the Japanese units are broken down into sub-groups at the start of the game, and it would be very helpful to know which ones should be kept relatively close together in the event it's decided to "rebuild" a division. Something similar might be done for aircraft, although that's less of a pressing need.

I think this is what you want Kull ... in the LCU production screen. I want to improve it a little but it does the job ... and I believe the same in the Airgroup area is dealt with (could use a tweak too)
