So, after starting a 2005 real-player league, in early May I looked at the FA list. Now, the Yankees had already overstretched themselves financially, so Matsui was on the list. I immediately signed him. This boggled my mind, BUT, the Yankees didn't have enough money left to include him on their roster. The weird thing is that no other team bothered to pick him up. Okey dokey, then.

As I noted in my locker report, the Yanks have just $600,000 left in their treasury. Matsui's minimum contract deal was for $3.5 million.

The flip side is that he's 31, and at peak (POT 20). So, I signed him for 2 years @ $3.7 mil.
