Replacement CA/CL

Post by Chris21wen »

The manual say

'An American or Australian CA that is sunk prior to 1944 will be replaced by a Baltimore-class
CA or a Cleveland-class CL. The replacement class is chosen at random.'

This doesn't appear to be the case. I've lost CA Portland and it has not appeared in the ship availability list.

I would not be surprised if that wasn't a holdover from the WITP manual. I thought I read somewhere that there wasnt going to be any spawning of sunk ships.

This is true if the respawn option is selection for the scenario. I do not believe this option is selected for any of the stock scenarios.

It can be turned on, but it's off for the standard scenarios.

Chris H-Could that be because in WITP the respawn took 18 months from date of sinking?

Would you please give me a page number in the manual for this? I tried to look it up in the index and couldn't find it?

You mentioned CAs & CLs. What about CVs?

Thanks, Hugh Browne

Respawn is turned on and off in the editor.  Open the scenario in the editor and go to the Scenario button.
