BoB - Swift vs Kevin
Moving from betatesting and breaking the game to a real PBEM with my BoB Luftwaffe Nemesis Kevin.
I do not now yet if this will be a joint AAR or if he agrees not to look into it. Until than I will only give a general overview or out of date information.
me.....Defender of the Reich....aaah...Empire
Kevin....The Evil Hun (who in real life lives in on of the BoB targets.......)

We start with BoB 40 just to see if Kevin is able to do his voodoo.

This PBEM AAR has been infiltrated by spies (me) ill be paying attention and rooting for the true heros.. Britain shall be in flames surely if you don't accept the generous peace offerings proposed by the fatherland

Here is a picture of the UK and the boundaries of the Fighter Command.
The graphics are modded [8D]
One of the most important things at the begin of the game is to spread out your forces.
There are several A/Fs with 3 squadrons on it.....some of them quite close to the coast.
These A/Fs can be a nice target for the Luftwaffe.
Problem with spreading out is that the fuel arrives after the A/Cs get there, but as soon there is fuel on an A/F
we will be fully functional.
Another aspect is the scoring, the Luftwaffe gets points for hitting FC A/Fs, but I also can use BC and CC A/Fs.
Also there are the satellite A/Fs for the FC main A/Fs....those are smaller A/Fs (often only grass strips) which only can get half the amount of fuel the main A/F gets

I hope so, I will ask the creator of the map mod toput it online.
And I still hope he does something similar to BTR

Oops! I was just powering through the posts without bothering to read the titles, until I read this. I'm happy to steer clear, and then I can look forward to reading all about what I was thinking afterwards.

RE: BoB - Swift vs Kevin
The Battle of Britain begins........our Radio interceptors picked up heavy radio chatter in the early morning.
Soon after the sun went up, a first recce wave raced across the channel.
Because of the awaited incoming raids, there were a few patrols in the air (in total 44 Hurricanes - I save my Spitfires for later). The patrols were able to intercept a few of the recce planes, some others were forced out off our patrol zones.

After the skirmish with the recce planes, I put up a new chain of patrols awaiting the first incoming raids.
These patrols help me to identify the incoming A/C......and the possible threat level. Is the raid only a short range Stuka raid, is it a heavy escorted small bomber raid, etc...
Much of this information I get from radar, but I like to know what kind of planes are involved.

Around 9 o´clock AM several raids are detected - most of them from the Pas de Calais.
Patrols move closer to them. All units south and east of London are getting in the air and are concentrating south of London, because we suspect that the enemy will attack our vital major fighter airbases here.
As soon as the raids crossed our coastline I alarmed units north and west of London, to put up more fire power.

As expected, some of the raids seem to go for my fighter bases, some others seem to go after radar.....those I ignore for the moment.
Here you can see some heavy air combot south of London. The raids are still inbound, and I try to hit them as hard as possible. But the German morale is far to high in the first few turns, so I can not make them turn back.....

After the first wave three major and one satellite airbase are heavily damaged and out of order until the rollway damage is repaired, but not only the rollways were hit. I will have to move several units, because the total A/B damge is far to high for a good performance!
I am also not too happy about the first clash....the loss ratio is to low...I need to do better
