I believe it does.
RE: Qestion
The P-40E in R&D are Chinese. Those will only be available to the Chinese.

RE: Qestion
And the fact that the plane is in R&D and production in the same time MIGHT lead someone to think that MAYBE, just MAYBE they're not the same plane?[8|]
We are all dreams of the Giant Space Butterfly.
RE: Qestion
Are you saying that if there are more than 1 entry for the exact same type of air craft (ie P-40E Warhawk), the means it will always be allocated to a different nationality?

In this screenshot, it denotes that the P-40E Warhawk with 27 planes once fully researched is to only be used by the Dutch units needing P-40E Warhawk replacement?
What happens if a dutch unit disbands or later withdraws? Do that mean they planes go back into the pool, but only for Dutch nationality units?

RE: Qestion
Yes, these planes are only available to the Dutch. However, there are a few aircraft that are available across nationalities. The Dutch B-25s are one of them.
You can see which is which nationality by turning the nationality filters on and off, or clicking on the yellow text.

RE: Qestion
Ok now what is the point of assiging a different P-40 to the Dutch... by the time they start to arrive most of the DEI or even the whole DEI is under Jap control and Dutch squadrons are (R) and cannot change command. In this case allied player get's useless planes that there is no way he can use and they just pile up in the pool... why can't US use them as with this system its like this
- The USAAF is short on P-40's maybe we can youse those (Dutch)... nope the Dutch are long gone but we can't use them becouse they have different markings[:D]

RE: Qestion
Thanks to the OP. I've realised there was a problem with WitpTracker regarding this as I was only looking at the name for filtering. Next release will have this correct ... here are some examples of cross-nation aircraft use ... Still working on the UpgradeTO in the Airgroups section to see what planes can use this model...

RE: Qestion
Well if i can't use those P-40's E for the Dutch this is annoying as after a year i will have over 300 of those fighters sitting in the pool while US pool will probably be low on P-40's E. Whats the point of making them if Java holds out till May/June this means bye bye Japan. I bet in most PBEM Java fall's even before the P-40's Come on line. I would suggest to make the avaliable for the US to[;)]

Actually you won't receive those Dutch P-40s for long; they begin arriving in 3/42 and stop arriving in 4/42. You get about 50 of them in total.
RE: Qestion
Which is about the same number they got in the real world. If the British had held out at Singapore for a week or two, the whole time table for invading the DEI would have been pushed back and the Dutch would have been flying those P-40s by the end of the campaign. The Japanese captured a bunch of P-40s in crates on the docks in Java. Some of the Dutch order were also aboard the Langley when she was sunk.
Andy has made some changes to the AI to patch some holes I found, but Java held out in my game. I'm in November 1942 and Java is serving as a launching point for the reconquest of the SRA. Palambang was the only base of any significance to survive on Sumatra, I had to repel some invasions in Java, but it held. A few other small islands are still in Dutch hands.
Most of the air power in the region is American, Australian, and one RAF unit. Few Dutch units are at full strength and their supplies of replacement aircraft are nil. After all the fighting, they have good experience, but few aircraft. I used every last one of the Dutch P-40s. I'm down to about a dozen.

RE: Qestion
I keep Java (against AI) too, and really miss a feature to allow transfer of aircraft between nationalities for PP, or transfer my hi-experience dutch pilots to another airforce (much as foreign raf squadrons in batle of britain), even if you lost all DEI you can save much of his airforce , and some groups can use australian planes to keep them flying.

There are some Free Dutch units that will draw on the Dutch pilot pool and fly other nation's aircraft. (Which is historical.)
