Campaign Games

Eagle Day to Bombing of the Reich is a improved and enhanced edition of Talonsoft's older Battle of Britain and Bombing the Reich. This updated version represents the best simulation of the air war over Britain and the strategic bombing campaign over Europe that has ever been made.

Campaign Games

Post by Richard III »

I liked the the concepts in both originals but bugs in BTR ( your P-38`s from England flew themselves down to the Med ) and hard coded results in BOB no matter what you did turned me off.

This looks like a" Buy" for me but I want to know has anyone play tested these VS the AI ( all I play ) in the campaign games to the very end ?

Do they work ?

Can you, with good playing, get the historic result ?

How is the AI ?

Thanks

Completely redesigned game. All the old bugs from the original have been squashed. Several years of work have gone into this one...

Thanks for the vote of confidence, but I wouldn't say "all"...

Definately fixed Richard's question about the P38 sweeps, though it was the other way. Sweeps and Close Escorts tried to patrol location 0,0 (or -1,-1) which is Belfastish on the map. That's done and dusted. Fuel use is more accurate now, a subject that I won't bore you all with the details.

there were alot of AI vs AI runs, I played alot of games part way, but I don't think anybody really got into a very, very long game

that would of taken longer to play, then the game took to get to work

I am one of the few who have won BTR 43 campaign twice, Swift is one of the others, not very many ever won as the Allies in the old game, or finished a game

(based on the old BTR Forums, there may of been others who were never part of the old group)

it is tested, but no AI is ever finished, and there are things I would like to see it do (force it to do)

besides, the Strat the AI uses is random, so very HARD to test each and every one completely

Thanks, I remember you working your A** off on the old BTR Forums to get this working and de-buged, and it seems that your team may have done that.

I have no problem with the price ( a bargain if you don`t already own the 2 games IMO ) and the older interface is no issue, I still play & enjoy Civ 3.

BUT, I really want to be able to finish a Grand Campaign without the game slowing to a crawl or locking up. I have alot of time on my hands [:)], and your response to that question seems a little hedging.

Running a 2.8 Ghz Celeron with 2 Gigs of RAM & a 128Mg Graphics Card.

Regards
Rich.

And FYI - Harley spent a fair bit of time improving this !

I'm not interested in getting historic results, so I do hope that is not the case with the game.
