Ball Flight Animation

Just last night, the ball animation slowed to a crawl in mid-game. Hmm. In any case, I turned it off in the "play options", and switched game speed to "fast". Wow! As a game-by-game player, this simple change makes a world of difference, and I don't lose any of the drama. I still see the animated play result in the field, which is very cool. Needless to say, nonsense such as fireworks displays are long gone.

Making this simple change (removing ball-flight animation) vastly improved the game's performance on my 6-year-old PC. I will no longer use this feature.
