Is it possible to play a campaign without doing any flying?

If so, can it be done against a human opponent, MP?

Yes, you can play the campaign in 2D without flying but I would recommend flying. Learning ot fly is graet fun and the game has Newbie/Novice options.

The Single Pilot Campaign (SPC) is very popular with flyers who want to get the feeling of flying in the Battle of Britain campaign without all the management that is required to play the campaign as Commander.

In the SPC you just hop into the cockpit and fly the missions the game assigns you.

But the Luftwaffe campaign has a couple of quirks which catch the untutored player unawares, so this video explains both how to start either an RAF or Luftwaffe SPC, plus how to manage the little quirks in the Luftwaffe game.
