What happened to Fighter Command?

Got the game installed, ran a couple of "auto plot" turns, just for warming up the old fingers...

1) This baby is bloody!

Currently, I have the game running, while I am typing this post. Found Alt-Tab'ing is OK, when switching back to the game I drag the mouse down the right side of the window along the windows and the display seems to come back on quicker.

Anyways, started diggin-in...

What the heck happened to fighter command? It's like half the units are off patroling for U-Boats or attacking German Condors.
Are the British units assigned to the 8th AF going to be re-assigned back to FC at some point?
I'm curious as to what other surprises are in store 300+ turns from now.

By 1943 big chunks of Fighter COmmand were assigned almost entirely to defensive ops.  Most of the offensive missions carried out by RAF fighters were done by untis assigned to 2 TAF.

remember also, that FC was basicly disbanded, and became ADGB (air defence Great Britain) with alot of the units also starting to make the move to 2nd Tac

hassle is, units that were still in FC at the start of the game, we tried to leave there (so some that should be in 2nd Tac, won't be)
