Sometimes it's the little things - A 1.70 wish list

From the front lines in France and Russia to the deserts of North Africa and the airfields and convoys of Britain, the campaigns of World War II are yours to command in WW2: Time of Wrath! This turn-based grand strategy title, the highly improved and expanded sequel to WW2: Road to Victory, puts the player in charge of the political, economic and military decisions of one or more Axis or Allied nations, including minor nations.

Sometimes it's the little things - A 1.70 wish list

1] Replace the sound effect for the Wastelands logo with let's say the sound of Plutonium decaying or the sound of the ambient temperature of the planet rising. Quiet please you're entering a Gaming Zone.

2] During setup the ability to change the AI & Difficulty settings for all countries at the same time. Also when the game creates new countries ask what settings are desired.

3] A range limitation for Strategic Movement based on point of origin and weather. If this has an adverse effect on the AI how about trying to fix the AI instead of suggesting we use house rules.

4] Naval Units: Separate Damage Meters for the Capital Ship and it's invisible escort. Thereby opening the possibility for more varied combat results and repair options or restrictions.

4.1] As I previously suggested severely raise the cost of building Naval Units to force banking of Production Points. Another and more simple form of production delay

5] A little more distinction between swamp and plain hexes. As for the overall map less green more tan and brown. I'm almost certain the USA does not have exclusive rights to "Amber waves of grain"

6] In Reports / Event History a synopsis of the event not just a statement that it occurred. For those of us that want to know what twists and turns the game is taking.

6.1] Adjust the size of text displays so that all the text displays

7] Considering the difficulty of capturing a city, when the defending unit is eliminated the attacker should be allowed to occupy AP's or no AP's. Even if the game chooses and does it automatically. Let's chalk it up to the spoils of war.

Well, I think that's enough for now (I can always edit later) and 7 is supposedly a lucky number.

I know not all of these are little things but this is a wish list.

Hi AH very good ideas and they may come to fruit before the 1.60 patch is released, I know its sitting in cyberspace.

item 1 YES!! I even deleted the music files from my system, and that infernal blast of music at the opening still occurs, so it must be part of the executable.

The other items are all good, especially the event explanation in reports.

The naval damage change is desirable but sounds like it would require a major code change.

Is just me or does the AI sometimes reinforce besieged cities? Let's see what's a synonym for BESIEGED?

Encircled
Isolated
Cut-Off

Trapped like the stinking dog you are, that is about to suffer an ignoble death so much deserved.

Sorry, I got carried away. OK I'll go with Cut-Off. Therefore NO reinforcement.

Also as previously stated in other threads - No Strategic Movement either.

Yes i think that issue was spoken of before. I don't know if it is fixed with 1.6 patch. Also, I think you can strategically move encercled units, which do not make sense either, it was mentionned too.
