Which is the best SSG game to get?

Post by htuna »

Korsun because of the low price and a lot of User Scenarios

Italy, because the newer engine is worth the extra money and there is the most user Scenarios

or Karkoff, because the latest engine is the best and that overrides the fact that there is only one user scenario available on the the SSG site?

thanks

Normandy.

The German AI is ruthless and will win. It's also the whole campaign - all beaches included.

It's the best treatment of the campaign on PC.

Listen to Sabre1...get Kharkov! Best SSG game ever (the new engine) and as he said, new stuff around the corner which includes a free update of Sicily. The free update of Sicily is something you get IF you purchase the upcoming expansion to Kharkov called Across the Dnepr 2. Please correct me if I am mistaken.

I look at Kharkov, it's supposed to be the best engine.. but there is only 1 scenario [:(] (also on some forums they say its harder for people to create scenarios with this one)... Italy has 24!!!!!... (50 bucks is a lot for a game with one scenario)...

I really leaned towards Normandy because I like the battle, but again Italy seems better with the amounts of user created content.

What are the advantages the Kharkov engine has over Italy?

I am not a fan of battles with astronomical amounts of units, just wall to wall one each side.. are these games like that? They all have such great reviews including on the outside.. so at least one of them should be on my future purchase radar!! [:D]

I haveKharkov and do not have the others. Kharkov is a great game, but I think the popular choice is either Normandy or Italy...lost of scenarios for Italy and I've heard Normandy has a tough AI.

Kharkov does have the variables and the Areas of Operation and I think it's a great system.

looking at screen shots in the SSG site.. does Kharkov run at higher resolution? or they all can do the same resolutions? One complaint I hear is tough to see on the big screens!

My eyes are not great, and I have no problem seeing information displayed on Kharkov. Just my 2 cents worth.

I have a 24 inch LCD.

looking at the 'specs' of each game, it seems they all have the same resolution.. is this the case from Korsun to Kharkov?

I only have a 17" flatscreen, but I have no probs with the info. Even if you did...I think the CTRL key is the shortcut and it loads a magnifier...

Regarding Normandy, from axis view there are only retreat scenarios, with the exception of Ardennes Offensive - which again is already part of the free demo.

Being the kind of gamer I am I usually pick games like I do my women. If there is a set of 3 or more like this I usually pick the middle one (Italy) as the older one usually has issues, doesn't offer very much in return (replayability) and the younger one just usually hasn't filled out enough, flat chested, totally no brains (ai), but, the middle one is usually filled out quite well and well she's usually pretty popular too (lots of mods) and easy to get along with (less hardware and driver issues etc) and happy to go anywhere you want to go and do most anything (hint hint wink wink.)

Now in this case there are 4 games, Korsun, Normandy, Italy and now Kharkov. So, while Normandy also offers quite a bit, Italy has the size 36D's-24inch waist and 36 rear (re)views. [:)]

Do you really think that most members of this forum like this kind of juvenile metaphorical stuff you seem to enjoy posting.

Yay I won I won I won! [&:] What did I win? [:'(]

Edit: And don't mind Madgamer he's sour to everyone and HPS games and gamelikers I think. I think it comes with aging something to do with senility or sumthin.
