Understood. I have my own customization routine I follow before/after each game update. I also remove "ambient rally1" (the "We Will Rock You" drumbeat) from the html folder, as it's obviously anachronistic in my associations.

I just play with the volume off. Yes, it is like killing roaches with a flamethrower but it has the merit of only one button to push....

Well, since I tend to play while wife watches TV, it has the side benefit of keeping a roof over my head. If you get my meaning....

I use them because I don't like the sound of the cheap, built-in speakers in my laptop. Plus everything sounds better when it's directly in your ears.

My PC desktop speakers/subwoofer are Altec Lansings, and while they're not top-of-the-line, the sound quality is excellent. I also use some software audio enhancements, such as DFX. I use my PC to listen to my CDs. For PureSim, well, it puts me in the ballpark, so to speak. This is why I made the effort to import several mp3 tracks into the game menus. I've written about my customized PS music in earlier threads.

As an example, this is the background music for the Standings menu: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jJLwThJB ... L&index=66

Here's the one I use for the Players menu: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6GmIpwZxedQ

You know, I have Altecs also. I may have to give that a go. Never really played with the sound files, I have been pre-occupied modifying schedules.
