Eagle Day to Bombing of the Reich is a improved and enhanced edition of Talonsoft's older Battle of Britain and Bombing the Reich. This updated version represents the best simulation of the air war over Britain and the strategic bombing campaign over Europe that has ever been made.

Hello folks,

I’m only getting time to play the game in short bursts, so forgive me if I ask some questions with obvious answers:

1. Historically Oboe had a range, being limited to the Ruhr until ground stations came ashore after Overlord, but I can’t find anything in the game which tells me if a target is within oboe range or not. Is there anything?

2. How do I use pathfinders? Do I simply include some 8 Group aircraft in with a raid, or should I plot a separate raid with then to hit the target at the same time as the main force? I’m thinking especially of the Mosquito units which race ahead of the heavies if included in a raid with them.

Greatly enjoying the game [:)]
While the battles the British fight may differ in the widest possible ways, they invariably have two common characteristics – they are always fought uphill and always at the junction of two or more map sheets.

Oboe: the historical limits of it are in the game......look at the range to the nearest Allied airbase

Pathfinders:
use them as lead squadron in your raids, or attack some high value targets at low alt alone with them

I found this very helpful, even though my Bomber Command mission plots now take about 4 times as long [8D]
