its still 1km x i km for PC: Kharkov. There was/is talk of having larger map sizes available in next game in series if I recall.

Glad to share. I'm anxious to see the patch come out, and to see some development on the next game.

I don't whether it's going up to 1.5km or 2km.

I do know turns load slow now.

Here's a visual so as to show some of what's involved.

If it went up to 2X2km that's 4 times more space. That should be big enough for most kampfgruppe engagements. 4 times more calculations! (4 times slower?)

Optimizations will mean that the computational cost won't scale geometrically, but it must obviously increase with larger map sizes (which often imply more units).

It would be nice if the developers could somehow exploit the new GPU computational capacity.

well, for u guys that r playing this is it a huge step forward over winterstorm? What do you like?
I think the ability to use infantry and keep them hidden from buttoned up armor will make or break any new buys, which I am considering here, especially at that bargain price with the promo!

It's all Greek to me.

But I understand that it won't just be 4 times more computing. They'll be some other way of doing it. I put that little question mark there "(4 times slower?)" to indicate that there is some Greek magic to it.

Kharkov has smoke. OWS didn't.

I find infantry in Kharkov more tenacious than OWS. That might be coincidence; meaning nothing might have changed. (I never asked.)

When a tank is buttoned it's "view cone" will narrow. (And aspects of it's survivability will increase.) It will still see infantry unless they are far, far away or towards rear/sides. This games is pretty abstract; but the "tables" (dice roll calculations, LOS, firepower, health, etc mitigations) are fairly inclusive/realistic. One could delve into them and make a subject out of it.

Kharkov added new vehicles and maps.

If you were considering _getting it anyway_ and it's on sale now (?) then you should probably get it while the gettin 's good.

Infantry was reworked for PCK, along with other improvements. However, PCOWS owners get these improvements when they install PCK with OWS installed. PCK contains a hidden OWS that is unlocked when it finds OWS on the system. PCK also has the battle and campaign generators and will do OWS as well based on the previous sentence.
