1.60 - Amphibious invasion

Am I missing something? When I attempt to move my fleet (german) out into the North Sea, I encounter some enemy vessels which I am able to deal with. So now time to invade Norway, no matter what - the invasion is intercepted each time, and the ultimate outcome is the sinking of all my amphibious transports. Do I have to go out and clear the entire North Sea first?

Yes, an landing operation is a difficult task for naval forces, so also in real life to perform such operation with success it is wise to have total domination over the area

I have just invaded Britain ok and am close to invading Gibraltar. I followed the advice of a poster and bombed british fleets for weeks, as well as sending out a major naval force, and successfully landed a panzer corp at Southampton (plus a couple of airborne divisions).

Seems like the only way to take Gib is to take Morocco/Tunisia and move bombers to the african mainland; I can't destroy the garrison with naval bombardment only

I am curious to how to invade Gib. I have England under control as a puppet regime (the british union) yet Malta and Gib, as well as Eastern egypt are still 'great britain'

I am unable to move forces into any area controlled by Great Britain (which seems to be still be popping out new naval forces, from where I do not know). With Vichy France unaccessable, Spain not in Axis - I am curious how exactly one can invade Gibralter?
