Austiran surrender

Post by Skanvak »

How is Austria surrendering in the 1.3 game?
In 1.2 I got my unit expulsed to the other side of the planet which could cost me victory.

I wonder if it could be possible to get rid of this instend relocation of Unit (unit near Vienna vers bring back to Syria or South ampton). As it been solved? I rather move the unit by rail or foot. Right now the unit does something silly (going back to Syria or southampton, and actually not possible for England as no transport were avialable. Did they invented teleportation for rebaseing only?)

Why Austria is not open or give a right of passage to attack Germany belly, I think that would have been the case, Otherwise, why Germany would have surrender historically after the surrender au Austria?

I begin to think that the status of a surrendered country should depend of the military situation. In our game, the turn before the surrender there was nearly no Austrian army, but the austrian front was held by german unit. I don't see how the surrender of Austria will make the British and German stop their fight on Austrian soil. I guess that at least part of Austria should have open to warfare in this situation. It might be difficult to code and juge.

I think an Austrian surrender is almost impossible to simulare historically accurate. The country would just have fallen apart with some provinces joining one of the sides, others just fighting for themselves, and again others just trying to become their own nation state. Also the final frontiers/status would have been determined after the end of the war, and not just in between.

Well, Austria did surrender before the German historically. Both Hungary and Austria sue for peace. As far as I know French army went to Vienna after that.
So getting a good idea of what happened could be possible.

Actually Germany made plans to occupy Austria after it sued for peace.  No Allied troops got very deep before the German armistice.

Yes, actually the german plan was made very early :
Cette déclaration met l'Empereur Charles dans une position intenable face à son allié allemand qui l'accuse de trahison, alors que Charles avait pris la précaution d'informer l'empereur Guillaume II qu'il avait engagé des pourparlers de paix, sans toutefois en révéler le contenu exact. L'état-major allemand met en place un plan d'invasion de l'Autriche et d'internement de son souverain. Il ne peut toutefois le mettre à exécution.

That mean that any surrendering of Austria should simply put Austria out of the game and let Austria a battle field.
