Japan Ground units???

If the southern army is suppose to be fighting in SE Asia (RL) then why do I find units in Babeldaob?
And what is up with the 'combined area fleet'? The seem scattered all over the place.

Actually, Combined Fleet should be an independent command. Combined Fleet was mostly in charge of the PH raid. I believe Combined Fleet was also the direct command of the Carrier divisions. Combined Fleet is Yamamoto's HQ basically.

Combined Fleet Command subordinated ground units are Imperial Japanese Navy "marines" under dicter command of IJN. I think for it it is a independt command at AE

FYI, Southeast Fleet area was not SE Asia but rather the Solomons/New Guinea area. Southern Area was the main command for the SE Asia actions. 4th Fleet was the central pacific area, including Truk, Marianas, Marshalls and the smaller islands between Japan and there. Combined Fleet was the overall HQ for IJN operations.

Combined Fleet is subordinate to Southern Area in the game, IIRC.  It shouldn't be IMO.
