Some Thoughts and Comments after 80 Turns

Eagle Day to Bombing of the Reich is a improved and enhanced edition of Talonsoft's older Battle of Britain and Bombing the Reich. This updated version represents the best simulation of the air war over Britain and the strategic bombing campaign over Europe that has ever been made.

Some Thoughts and Comments after 80 Turns

Post by anthonykevinluke »

Evening All,

I have played through for some 80 turns and have also played the original since it's release, including all of J C Larusso's updates. Overall, a huge improvement and well done to the team, especially Hard Sarge and Harley. Even against the AI it is hugely improved. Some issues that you may wish to consider -
- Fighters ordered to engage Allied escorts .... rarely do. If you give your fighters an order to engage the escorts 9 out of 10 times they hit the bombers. This sort of defeats the whole idea of having AS ftrs engage his high cover or close escort so your bomber killers can get in.
- Even with height and experience I can rarely bounce allied escorts or fighters.
- Flak is far better in this version, less deadly to the allied acft, however, allied acft do seem to kill a little bit too much of the german flak in gnd atk, radar atk, and airfield atk missions.

For your consideration.

Regards,

Tony
