QUESTION ON UNIT REORGANIZATION

Post by racndoc »

US Army has 132nd IR(Pacific Fleet) and 182nd IR(West Coast) stacked in SF. The 182nd IR(Pacific Fleet) arrives in 2 weeks. Together these 3 IRs combine into the Americal Division.

Can I combine all 3 IRs into the Americal without changing 182nd to Pacific Fleet and if so will the newly formed Americal Division also be Pacific Fleet?

The regiments all have to be the same HQ to combine.

And you might as well make that HQ XIV Corps if I understand how it is that HQ's are supposed to help.

the trouble here is that 2 rgt is assigned to pacific 1 to West coast and the full recombined div at West Coast: so andspruance ask:

if i recombine this i get a released Div as all 3 rgt are assigned to pacific or a restricted one so i have to choice between keep the 3 rgt indipendent or i must pay again for the full div after recombined?

Yes, you are right that it is expensive. But as I understand the system, the unit won't get benefit of corps HQ's unless assigned to a corps HQ. If you know a cheap and easy way to do that, you will make a lot of friends here. [;)]

this is another question, corp HQ as no roule in recombine unit. and to get corp HQ benefit it must be assigned to a corp HQ AND in range (1). i don't know a cheap way.

but for allied is useful to pay PP to change HQ of already unrestricted unit to another in 42 when the PP pool are always in short?
