Terrain in hex

Post by Admiral Scott »

Is there any way of knowing what the terrain is in a hex other than visual examination?

It would be nice to click on a hex and get the terrain info labled for you.

I often have trouble making out the terrain code when I press the 1 key. The code gets lost or hidden behind other things like the airfield and port symbols.

Also the w key will show both hex and hexside ownership, and the f6 key will show what exactly each hexside is, i.e. is it water, land, both, or impassable. Both very important to fully understand the map. (Not that I really do [:D])

Jg is jungle. JR is jungle rough. I was looking at this this morning in china as regards to woods. I think if theres one cap it's one terrain type and if theres two caps it's a combination, like Wd is woods but WR is woods/rough. I don't think it's spelled out in the manual or in the terrain key on the map. Hope that helps.[:)]
