Along a similar vein . . . had a college roomate who became a child psychologist. He had a theory back in undergrad about ocds. In short, the therapist follows the patient around and whenever they engage in the ocd behavior, he'll slap the hell out of them. His thought was that replacing an irrational fear (that something bad will happen if they don't engage in the ocd) with a rational fear (of pain if they do) represented progress. I'm still waiting for news reports about the increase of 10-15 year old murder suspects in the greater Pittsburg area.
