Prussia: Between a Rock and a Hard Place?

This sequel to the award-winning Crown of Glory takes Napoleonic Grand Strategy to a whole new level. This represents a complete overhaul of the original release, including countless improvements and innovations ranging from detailed Naval combat and brigade-level Land combat to an improved AI, unit upgrades, a more detailed Strategic Map and a new simplified Economy option. More historical AND more fun than the original!

Prussia: Between a Rock and a Hard Place?

Post by Anthropoid »

I fired up a single player game (just Difficult, not crazy difficult) as Prussia just to check things out a bit.

I have in the past played with France, and have played quite a bit with Russia.

Imagine my surprise at how small, and seemingly vulnerable Prussia is!? How exactly Lenin managed to build up a massive 300K man army with this little nation I don't quite understand.

So what is the trick here with Prussia? Where is its strength?

Prussia needs a steady flow of foreign money, either from Britain or France, and is well positioned to conquer additional lands on the Rhine.

Obviously Britain is a more natural ally since France has so many Glory targets along the Rhine.

I'm a military genius, Anthropoid!

I had a 400k army prior to the latest patch.....

*edit* PM me when the game is over, and I'll tell you what happened....

Well given we are probably about 5 or 10 turns from Mus winning, couldn't you just go ahead and "spill the beans?" [:D]

Feudal levy was working pre patch as well. Many of the units in the original Prussian army were from Feudal levy, particularly before Prussia was hit with mass insurrections.
