custom counters ready

Post by jack54 »

this mod has been upgraded to include Agent S ships see "jhh counters with agent s ships" thread. (10/19/09)
link with ships counters below
http://rapidshare.com/files/294849241/_UnitsSkin_jhhsships.zip

original sprite ships link below
http://rapidshare.com/files/293468284/_UnitsSkin_jhh.zip

sorry for any confusion.

well here goes, this is the mod I've been working on; 15 country counter sets including a generic set.
Unzip and the put folder [UnitSkin_jhh] into the 'matrix games/ww2 time of wraith/data/gfx folder(make sure it's the folder with the brackets; you may have to open a folder up after unzipping to find it.
so far everything seems to be working fine; can't say for sure that I didn't do anything stupid.
It's a 10 mb file because of the 16 individual country graphics. (this is my first attempt at file sharing so wish me luck!)

If everything goes right I plan to add more countries in the future (and change a few I'm not crazy about (LOL).If anyone wants to help add countries or has alternative ideas its fine with me the more input the better. There's a backup csv file that can be used if you want the info under the counters (original stock csv).

special thanks to:
Agent 'S'-- It's his csv with slight changes.
Uxbridge-- making all the air units blue idea
Michael the Pole-- graphics help and moral support
and of course Bleck for lots and lots of help!

Jack, I'm up and running with your skins, they're superb![&o]
Any chance of getting the tech level designator going by Saturday (Der Tag for 5play) but I dont suppose it would mess up anything to revise counters after the start of the game.
I'll send you a screen shot.
Thanks again

Michael all the units have tech levels running up the left hand side.Different colors, some are more visable than others due to the counter graphics.

the Germans have a white dots. You actually due get used to this. I'll look into a better looking system in the future, If it's really is too blurry maybe we can due something with the csv file. I said 'We' because I may need some help with this.

here's an improved 'generic' units png.it places a thin border around all generic units, it's thin and subtle but I like it.

also new german png with yellow tech level dots to improve visability. It also corrects an error with german level 4 infantry
displaying a level 3. sorry about that!

you can just swap out the pngs in the units jhh folder.

I also have a version in the works with Agent'S' ship counters. I'll post that after I check for errors.

Any thought to making the backgrounds muted? I found the Italian background to be a bit distracting the other day in North Africa.

hi gw,

Do you think the whole counter background,or the edge?

I'm threading a fine line between nice graphics and clutter. I'd like to get all the kinks out before a new release with agent s ships.

I personaly am not happy with the italian, british or french counters; they're a little 'busy' IMHO.

constructive opinions are great! thanks

basically that's what I meant, 'busy' and a bit distracting. I actually was thinking about muting the whole background, ala the one that Wastelands posted on their twitter page. have you taken a look at that one? The symbology is there, as in yours, just muted.

You and the others have created great unit mods. I find myself constantly going back and forth trying them out.
