Autoupgrading units

Eagle Day to Bombing of the Reich is a improved and enhanced edition of Talonsoft's older Battle of Britain and Bombing the Reich. This updated version represents the best simulation of the air war over Britain and the strategic bombing campaign over Europe that has ever been made.

Autoupgrading units

Post by KenchiSulla »

The way it works now several units get autoupgraded. I don't always like the way it is handled by the program. I would like to have more control over it.

What do you think?

ps: When I get a message a unit got upgraded it only shows up for 1-2 seconds. Is it possible to slow this one down as it is pretty critical info!

You can change units aircraft yourself throught the Review Units button. Click on a unit, click Detail (I think) and then there is a button for changing the aircraft. It will show you available aircraft for that unit (Like, you cannot change a fighter unit to a bomber unit). Of course, if there are not enough aircraft then you are kind of stuck. I don't know what this does to future upgrades or anything else, though.

Hey Golden bear, yeah at times I upgrade units myself as well! Right now I phased out 110 production and shifted it to 410. I still have a pool of 150 ME110G's or so. I would like to use them but the game wouldnt allow me since it changed the last two ZG to 410's. Now ofcourse I could change back to 110 but wouldnt that make the AI change back to 410 again?

I am trying to get the max out of my production system.

iirc (played only the original a decade ago) a unit won`t autoupgrade again once you changed the aircaft type by yourself.
