Kevin continued his raids during dawn ( with LF 5 hitting two ports) and during the night with several raids......I suspect that some of his bomber units fly twice or even trice a day.

here the losses of the day

Hi Swift,

was interested to see Kevin's broader selection of targets. Particularly the Ports ?

Think he should post his side on a seperate AAR report, for comparison by us neutrals.

8/22/40

Kevin still keeps my Radar down.....no working radars left on the channel coast [:(]
The Germans fly 24 bombing missions against Radar, a/f and industrila targets.
His effort cost him 49 a/c vs 3 of my own [8D] (14x He111, 10x Bf110 and 11 Ju88)

Fighter command has 16 active aces with James E McComb of the 611 Sqn leading the top scorer list with 7 kills.

Swift,

Would you be so kind as to post some comments regarding your strategy for placing AA and barrage balloons? Do you see any trends or results from your placements that would be worthy of sharing with us newbies? Are there any adjustments that you would now make if you could replay some of the earlier turns?

Also, how are you posting your patrols, given the sorry state of your HC radar? Have you come up with any effective deployments, or possible strategies that you’d recommend?

The amount of damage you’re inflicting on the Luftwaffe is staggering, nevertheless, I’m on the edge of my seat waiting to see if you can hold on during the first month and avoid an air superiority defeat. Given the full court press Kevin is throwing at you it appears he’s aiming for an early victory regardless of the cost.

Hi Jugjock,

you only have limited points for deploying the AA in BoB ( 100 compared to the 500 in BtR)......very often I need most of the points for moving sqns around.
The AA I deployed is mostly on the primary and coastal A/Fs....and to a few radar sites ( here often light or medium AA, because he uses Stuka or low lvl raids on them)
Balloons......I use them normally for coastal targets away from my A/Fs.......often very historically on ports and OILS.

Patrols.......I am not able to defend my radar sites...and also the coastal sites...so I use patrols to detect medium to high level raids ( there is a certain detection window in which a patrol detects raids ).....I try to intercept raids that go to the London area and to my inland primary A/Fs.
Patrols are in various altitudes from 6k to 25k......and there are around 5 to 10 4a/c patrols in the air all the time if the radio chatter detector is above 100....if it is lower I stand down my units, or I fly fewer patrols or do some recce chasing.

My main tactic at the moment is guerilla air warfare.......hit Kevin whenever I am sure that I kill more than I lose. I try to gang up more interceptors to distract the Bf109s and with a few high exp and high morale pilots I go after bombers and Zerstörer.

Kevin knows the game very well....lots of tweaking was done because Kevin was (and often still is) able to do unbelieveable damage with his units.......but he also knows that I am well aware of all aspects of the game [8D] ( BoB and BtR were installed on all my computers since those games were released....and thats more than 10 years now!!)

I am not sure that Kevin is still aiming at an early AS victory.....he started to attack many other targets in the last turns.....

ciao

8/23/40......The radar situation is still very bad, but I am able to move some medium and light AA to those sites....I hope they will make some kills....but I also think that they wont stop Kevin....

and here you can see the Spitfire units.

You can see that I use as many A/Fs as possible - BC bases are also used by FC all the time.
