question regarding automated upgrades

Eagle Day to Bombing of the Reich is a improved and enhanced edition of Talonsoft's older Battle of Britain and Bombing the Reich. This updated version represents the best simulation of the air war over Britain and the strategic bombing campaign over Europe that has ever been made.

question regarding automated upgrades

Post by sven6345789 »

If you change production manually, will the automated upgrade react to it?
or is the upgrade schedule fixed, so if you take a plane out of production, no more upgrade for that squadron if it is scheduled to upgrade to it.

You can change production manually, but it will still follow the upgrade process unless you turn Human Control on for prod.

There is a new prod system coming - the AI/Computer makes smarter choices based on AC in service, AC in deficit, AC Stocks and Assembly/Engine/Part Stocks.

Current tests have it working quite well.

To clarify for my tiny brain... if I upgrade say, a NF XII to a NF XIII but if I left it alone it would've upgraded to say a NF BFG9000 later on, it will still upgrade to the BFG9000 despite my interference?

Carlos - 2 different things. PROD CONTROL is for factories only, and it's Computer Controlled by default, but can be changed by the player. If the player changes something, and leaves Computer control on, then the computer will change it when it decides it's a good time.

Unit Upgrade control is ALWAYS computer controlled until User intervention. If a user upgrades a unit, that unit will NEVER auto upgrade. We will put a toggle in to change this, but not in the immediate future. We will get there.

Good man. Many thanks for the clarification. It can stay low on the upgrade list AFAIC.

I remeber playing version 1.00 when User intervention did not stop upgrades. It was horrible.
I like being able to tell a computer to do something... and it does it! [:D]
