A question

Eagle Day to Bombing of the Reich is a improved and enhanced edition of Talonsoft's older Battle of Britain and Bombing the Reich. This updated version represents the best simulation of the air war over Britain and the strategic bombing campaign over Europe that has ever been made.

A question

First of all GREAT Game. I am really enjoying it. Reading some the reviews really makes me wonder how some of those opinions where arrived at. The interface has a bit of a learning curve, but nothing a serious gamer would not work through.

Anyway, My question is about weather. I have only played EDay but as the LW when I plan a raid the clouds I am looking at seem to have no bearing on what appears when I start the raids. What is a clear sky can suddenly be totally cloud covered sending my raids into losses with no hope of spoting their targets. Am I missing some way to get a predicter on cloud cover? Is this intended in the design and if so I would like to know the historical design rational for it. I realize there are no weather satelites orbiting up there.

Again thaks for giving me back such a great game!!!!!

Weather is a topic that really get some people cranked up.

As it is, you plot your missions at 4:30 and the first missions go up at 6:00 so you have to sort of judge when the breaks in the weather are going to be in different places. There is no built in predictor... you've just sort of got to guess.

Jimbo,
I hear you my friend. I have read a lot of the Strategic Bombing Campaign. I have also lived and worked in Western Europe and I can tell you that a clear day is rare.

Or like the joke I tell some people about some work I did in Ireland.... I spent a summer in Ireland one weekend. I dare you to find 4 days in a row with clear weather. IMHO it adds to the flavor of the game. I think it is very realistic and historic. I believe the Allies were just as frustrated with it in the war.
