disbanding squadrons

Post by TommyG »

I keep confronting a dilemma with my required withdrawal of air units. Sometimes the withdrawal option is greyed out and I am forced to suffer PP loss or disband and lose very valuable B-17s and P-40's early in the war. Is this a game function or am I doing something wrong?

Try to move the air group to different base, which is bigger, have more supplies or air HQ. That might help.

Considering units with withdrawal date:

Lot of air units were transferred to other theaters (like UK/Med etc.) So lot of those units you can only disband, since historically both planes and pilots went to fight other side of globe. Those air units that you can withdraw are basically reorganized or used to reinforce other units, so planes and pilots stayed (at least theoretically) in Pacific area. So with those, you won't lose planes and pilots.

Hope this helps with rationale between withdrawable units and units you can only disband.

THANK YOU!

Now I understand. Makes sense. And it adds even more to my respect for the attension to detail in this game.

There is a fine line between the delight in historical accuracy and the burden of administrative paperwork. Sometimes, this game crosses that line.
