In between hockey - Tithe. [&o]

Back from my son's game, and getting ready for the Hurricanes at the Avalanche in HD in 25 minutes.
I saw that the Hurricanes lost 4-5 [:(]. The Hurricanes is one of the teams that I usually root for, since Niklas Wallin used to play for my favorite team here in Sweden before he went to the NHL. How was the match?

Hi Per, everyone in my family is a huge Hurricanes fan. We live about 10 minutes from their home arena. The game last night at Colorado was very entertaining. Up 2-0, down 4-2, back to 4-3, then the Av' went back up 5-3, and a final Canes goal with about 3 minutes left for a final of 5-3. Colorado is a very good team, very fast. The Canes will be very good this year, just off to a slow start, except the goalie who has become one of the league's best, and is likely going to be on Canada's Olympic team in February.

Time to get my 11 year old goalie out of bed and ready for his 2 games this morning. [>:]

Nice one. I played one of the original games as a free download from homeoftheunderdogs, but it had a few issues like not being able to save games [:@]

I might have to check this new version out, is it worth the dollars?
ORIGINAL: gladiatt

I also have a question for those guys playing this game. I once, in a far away galaxy, errr, i mean, a long time ago, owned 12 O'Clock High Bombing the reich.
I found it hard to play: interface was not really friendly, scrolling not perfect, forming a mission took a long time and was hard to do, and the replay of the turn was very long.
The question is: have some of these points changed, or is it roughly the same game ?

Two replies in one post, the game still looks more or less the same as before. The interface is pretty much unchanged from the original versions. Mission planning and replays take as long as they ever did.
Most of the changes are under the hood, getting rid of the bugs and adding a few new features. The bigget improvement IMO is the ability to have 4 waypoints on the inbound and outbound legs of a mission now. There are also a few bits of art from a certain Threadster in there as standard [;)]

If you liked the original then you'll like this, if you didn't like it then you won't like the new version. I likd the original despite its faults, so the improved version is great for me. It's a shame there isn't a demo out there, with a week long scenario to check out.

Mac, iirc there was an issue that the version on theunderdogs didn't have a savegame folder included in the download. If you added one yourself then it all worked fine [;)]

Tithe...

Leo, it's the Eagle Day full campaign, 79-turn scenario 1940. It's nice to get reacquainted with this old friend, even though my dastardly opponent fails to recognize my obvious superiority.[:'(]

BTW, for people who complain about AE taking too long to resolve its turns, BtR can take AN HOUR to resolve a one-day turn.

And that's when you're just watching your missions resolve. Playing as the defender...several of our PBEM turns in BoB have been more than an hour for me.

I've finally got Houston to do something other than sink [8D]  She managed to sneak into Legaspi and sink an IJN destroyer and escape from the retaliation of a Jap CL and half a dozen DDs.  She's used all her ammo though...

I tried a lone Houston attack on Jolo and they shot their ammo with no end result.[8|]Tried the same with Boise, same result.
