Hey look! Widescreen support!

Armada 2526 continues the great tradition of space opera games. You guide your race from its first interstellar journeys, until it becomes a mighty galactic empire. Along the way, you'll explore the galaxy, conduct research, diplomacy and trade, found new colonies, maneuver mighty star fleets, and fight epic battles.

It does look good. Seems Like I will be buying my very first space game in the not too distant future.

Yup.. looks very promising indeed. It will need to be, though, as the standard of existing games with similar themes (GalCiv 2, SotS, SoaSE, AI War) is exceptional, and it will take an equally exceptional new game to justify prolonged play ahead of them. Will deffo be buying, as long as the price is sensible.

Have you heard of BotF2: Supremacy? A community driven project, totally free. Though it might take a few years for it to be complete :(
