Questions regarding Me401B-2/R5 and Re.2005

In my current game I'm producing both the Me410B-2/R3 and Me410B-2/U2. I can transform the U2 into the U4 by clicking "Add Extra Cannons" on the unit info screen. This does not work for switching from R3 to R5 however, even though the same button is displayed. Does the R5 weapon pack become available at a later date (I'm currently in 5/44)?

Also, I was thinking about getting the Re.2005 for the Italians and started some small-scale production. However, it seems to still be researched in 5/44 since there were no aircraft produced so far. There's no start date mentioned in the stickied thread, so any info would be welcome.

Thales, as it seems there is an (typing) error in the OOB regarding the switching R3 to R5.
