Taking Screen Shots

Silly question. How do you take screen shots? The print screen key doesn't seem to work for me, or if it is, I have no idea where it's sending the images to.

Thanks in advance for the responses.

The printscreen button puts it on the clipboard...open MSPaint or something, start a new project and paste it.
