Upgrade from Fw-190A to Bf-109G

With plenty of factories producing Wurgers, by Summer of 42' all of my German wings were flying the Fw-190, with all but a few of the allied wings flying the Bf-109F and one converted to Bf-109G.
The Macchi-202 being the only other single engine fighter serving in Axis fighter wings.
Lo and behold I find a German Geschwader flying the 109G....should this happen?

The pools are probably the biggest determinant of what the AI does. If you had hundreds more 109Gs than 190As, then it might do that. Otherwise, it shouldn't I think, unless the air unit in question was a reinforcement, which could easily have been set to that plane. I am assuming this is not what happened though. Also, is it the standard game or Possum's?
