troop transports/disruption?

Post by jackyo123 »

ivce read in a lot off the aar's about how troops without sufficient planning points will take a load of disruption during amphib invasions, and will also take disruption on long trips.

but ive not seen this - i accidentally left an indian brigade at diego garcia in a large conmvoy that couldnt unload for over 2 months - when i checked their numbers, disruption was 0 and fatigue was 4.

I also landed 2 mareine units at efate/lungaville with no prep points. Also took zero disruption.

So what is the 'word' on this? Is this WAD? Was it changed in the last patch?

Disruption for units onboard ship and taking part in landings depends on a number of things.

Basically, if the troops are aboard a properly equipped ship their disruption chances are much smaller. Also if landing from a properly equipped amphibious ship (as opposed to a freighter). Put them in poor living conditions aboard ship or unload them from under-equipped ships, it gets bad - maybe real bad.

All such disruption and loss is based on randoms. You might have the troops in proper transports or you just might be one lucky fella.

both groups were in xAP's (I generally convert about 2/3 of my convertible xAK's to xAP's right away - I know that amphib  sealift was a huge damper on all ops prior to late '44).
